Finding Peace Beyond Medicine
I remember that moment.
It happened in a circle.
In a space with other psychonauts and seekers.
Open.
Willing.
Searching.
Seeking our own truth.
Willing to experience.
Willing to feel.
Willing to go deeper.
I was there.
Under the influence of MDMA.
Not to escape.
Not to party.
But to open myself…
to the layers of me…
beneath everything I thought I was.
And I reached a state.
Not new.
I had felt it before.
In moments.
In glimpses.
A place where everything is still.
No ache in the body.
No troubles in the mind.
No heaviness in the heart.
No noise.
Just stillness.
Silence.
And I recognized it.
I had been chasing this.
Through days.
Through years.
Wanting to stay there.
And in that moment… a question came up.
Clear.
Final.
How can I achieve this state… without the medicine?
That question stayed.
And it became the work.
Not out there.
Here.
Below the noise.
Removing what was in the way.
Facing what I had avoided.
Letting go.
Staying with myself.
And over time…
it returned.
I could feel it.
And I knew.
Every time I place my hand over my heart…
I’m right there.
And in that state… present… I AM.
In that space.
In that place.
At peace.
