Todo Está Bien
You live long enough and eventually realize nobody is coming to calm your mind for you. Nobody can reassure you the way you have to reassure yourself.
Because if you do not learn how to slow your own thoughts down, things can spiral out of control very quickly. The mind starts running through every worst-case scenario possible, and before you know it, you are suffering through things that have not even happened.
I do not know what comes next, but thinking the worst almost guarantees an outcome nowhere close to what I actually want. So I remind myself that all is well, and whatever comes next, I will manage it.
Todo está bien.
All is well.
Very well.
Very, very well.
The circumstances back then are different from now. The mindset is different. The awareness is different. I am not the same person I was yesterday, a year ago, or five years ago.
Life has already proven that things can change, evolve, and move forward in ways I could not see at the time. Bills get paid. Problems get solved. The hard conversation eventually happens. The storm eventually passes. Somehow, life keeps moving forward even when the mind convinces us everything is falling apart.
Todo está bien.
All is well.
Very well.
Fear wants certainty before peace arrives, but life rarely works that way. Sometimes you have to breathe in the middle of uncertainty and trust that you will handle whatever comes next when it gets here.
Because when I look back at all the things I once thought would break me, somehow I made it through every single one of them.
Not perfectly.
Not gracefully every time.
But I made it through.
And that alone reminds me that maybe things are not as hopeless as the mind makes them seem in the moment.
Todo está bien.
All is well.
Very well.
Very, very well.
